Problem
The Community Endowment Fund (CEF) is a charitable organization focused on protecting at-risk youths. Their mission statement reads: To build stronger, safer communities by developing a sustainable funding resource for grass root, community based programs, through partnerships with local and national businesses. They partner with businesses who provide services at discounted rates to fee-paying CEF members. CEF then uses the membership fees for youth initiatives in the community.
Crime can cost many people from businesses, to the individual on the street. We were approached to create a brand identity to help promote the concept to not only the business community but also individual donors. We felt that one of the main issues to address would be the to present the information in the most attractive and understandable way possible. The main drive of the brand had to have a strong concept so as to push to idea in a clean and concise way.
Solution
Velocity developed the logo, the corporate stationery, the commercial storyboards, the Flash website and the database for the website. The circular logo represents the flow of funds from the community. The nucleus of the logo represents the CEF. The spheres around it represent the partners and the youth, all working together for a better, well-rounded community.
Members sign up at the CEF website. We opened the website with a Flash animation to attract the user’s attention. We transformed dry statistics into attention grabbing facts by using modern music to draw in the user while the statistics fly across the page. The remainder of the website is Flash animated and interactive to keep the user’s attention. We designed it to appeal to both corporate CEO’s and youths.
