Problem

For thirty years Edward Carriere has provided expert styling, esthetics and hard-to-find beauty, fashion and accessory products for people looking for elegance, style, flair and sophistication. Their salon is home to some of the most experienced and creative stylists in the industry and has a reputation for being an outstanding salon.

Edward Carriere has three divisions: the hair salon, esthetics salon and gift store. Initially, the owners approached Velocity with the need to inform the public and their existing clientele of the store on the main level of the building. It had been open for a number of years but was not attracting the business they hoped.

Solution

To begin with we suggested an awareness campaign for the store and started by creating a new name for it. We chose Edward Carriere Downstairs to connect the store to the well known Edward Carriere name. We kept the logo simple and created a tagline, “Downstairs, your new favorite store".

The business is in an old renovated two story home with three main windows. We decided to design custom boxes for each division to hang in the windows. The posters are large 6'X8' posters with tremendous street visibility. In conjunction with the windows, we designed a sign for the store, price cards, gift certificates, business cards and a Flash website for the entire business.

As the company has evolved so has the brand. We have since updated the website from Flash to a content managed website allowing the staff at Edward Carriere to update the content at will.
