Problem

Composites Innovations Centre is a Winnipeg based not-for-profit organization that partners with industry, government agencies and educational establishments to develop and commercialize composite technologies and applications. The CIC is driven by industry requirements focusing on key sectors: aerospace, bio-materials, ground transportation, and civil infrastructure.

We wanted the brand to reflect their state-of-the-art facility. The use of photography and the style of the design was very important. We needed to demonstrate to the world the vast range of products that are made from or contain composite technology.

Solution

Our design solution was clean and bold. We chose a three-colour solution of metallic gold, metallic bronze and black to reflect the actual pieces of the composites. Composites are made from two or more distinct materials that create a better, stronger and more durable material when combined. Throughout the brand we applied a matte varnish and a spot gloss varnish to create an exact replica of composite material.

As-well-as the logo and stationery and signage we also produced a 12-page brochure will be used as a promotional tool and will be featured across Canada and the United States. We also created a website which has been a huge success in communicating the wealth and specifications of the services that CIC offer.

Testimonial

Sean McKay, CEO, Composites Innovation Centre

“After initially being introduced to Velocity during the development of a brochure for Manitoba’s Composite Cluster, we secured their services to re-design our brand to include our logo, stationery, banner, one sheet, sign, poster board and a large re-design to our website. We are very pleased with the outcome of their work, it has provided the consistent and professional image we require.”
